Minn & Maks: Math Twin Rescue

Minn & Maks: Math Twin Rescue is a math puzzle adventure game, based on the 1993 MS-DOS game "Sir Addalot's Math Adventure'.
You play as either Maks OR Minn. The sibling that wasn't chosen will be kidnapped by the evil witch Mathilde and taken deep into the woods. Mathilde has recruited monsters to do her bidding, and will do whatever it takes to stop you from meddling in her plans.
Make matches with the cards spread around every stage and clear your way to rescue your twin and defeat the witch!
The game features 4 different stages, each with a unique monster to defeat.
You can customize your playthrough by choosing the difficulty of the run and the operations to be shown in the cards (adding, subtracting, multiplying or dividing).

Mae, está demasiado lindo me encantó el arte y la música. Sí noté en mi pantalla, en el diálogo, se corta lo de press space to continue. También noté que a veces presionaba las teclas y no reaccionaba y tenía que presionar otra vez la misma tecla. A parte de eso, me encanta la mecánica de matchear los números, se entiende bastante bien sin leer las instrucciones. Muy bien!

First boss needs a slight adjustment on attack patterns in hard mode, it is nigh impossible to move up without taking a hit even after baiting and dodging the previous attack. Other than that, solid game. Sit tight for a no-hit hard mode speedrun, soon-ish.

Well that was simply delightful! I love everything about this game except for the movement controls. Going from tile to tile felt janky because it was so slow and sometimes didn't feel like my keys were being detected

The best is the music. To be an educational game is very entertaining. The difficult level is madness. The story, though simple, catches. The graphics are basic but I expect a 3D version soon. Recommendation: bring the instructions to sight.

Yeah, the controls panel is kinda hidden behind the Options menu, that’s why we included it as a screenshot here on the page.

Neat game! I like the educational appeal, it makes it fun for both kids and adults. I like the challenge of solving problems, matching them and dodging attacks all at the same time, it’s very engaging! The scoring and different difficulties add some nice replayability as well!
Overall, it's a short and sweet game that can also be used as a great educational tool!

Yes, one of the objectives of the game was to gamify an educational activity (as I said in the description, this project is an assigment for our Game Design course).
The 90s game Sir Addalot’s Math Adventure served as the mayor inspiration for this, and so we got the basic mechanics but we added the different monsters and difficulties as our personal twist
One thing I forgot to mention: Would it be possible to have the game installed and launch through the itch.io app?
I don’t really know how that works, but I’ll look into it!
Edit: It’s done! Ver. 1.1 is now compatible with the itch.io app!
